Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte is on a warpath. He accuses Senator Antonio Trillanes IV of keeping off-shore bank accounts, which are reportedly under the radar because monies kept there only run by the thousands.
This follows a week after Mr. Duterte admitted that he only lied when he said Trillanes is keeping bank accounts in Singapore. Days ago, Trillanes went to the Bank of Singapore and got several statements belying Duterte’s claims.
Now, the 72 year old leader is again trying to convince the public that Trillanes is also keeping secret bank accounts, the very same accusations being leveled against Duterte by the feisty senator.
Duterte is on the hot seat after the Philippines anti-money laundering council discovered numerous bank accounts containing at least a billion pesos of unknown funds.
The President has been a public servant since 1986.
