As what the Philippine Observer wrote a day or two ago, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has just filed a case against suspected drug lord Peter Go Lim, even as PNP Chief Ronaldo Bato dela Rosa has announced that a new drug lord has surfaced and in control of the drug trade in the Visayas-Mindanao regions.
Chief Inspector Chuck Baragdog of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) served the subpoena the morning of August 1 at the house of Lim. The subpoena directs Lim to answer police charges that Peter Go Lim heads a syndicate in a conspiracy to sell drugs in the country.
Lim is expected to appear before the Department of Justice on August 14, at exactly 10 o’clock in the morning.
PNP chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa vows to cut off the number of drug personalities in the country. Bato says that other drug lords are now ripe for operation.
Lim, who goes by the monicker “Jaguar”, is reportedly the biggest drug lord in the Visayas. He has been freely operating in the Visayas using a legitimate business as front.
When President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced his name as one of 136 personalities involved in illegal drugs, Lim reportedly made efforts at getting an audience with Duterte. And he was able to get a meeting with the President.
Lim testified before the president that he is not involved in drugs. He even told Duterte that he is being mistaken for another Peter Lim. PNP sources however, confirms that the one who appeared before Duterte was indeed, the notorious big-time drug lord who directs control of the flow of illicit drugs in the Visayas-Mindanao area.
After the meeting, Lim disappeared.
